San Francisco snapshot

I boarded a plane for San Francisco pretty much right after our photo session with Selah photography last Sunday. My gorgeous sister was celebrating the big 3-0 so I went out to join her. She planned a fabulous Mad Men themed party, and trust me this girl knows how to throw a party. She planned the majority of my wedding too. She's pretty amazing. Everyone looked great rocking their bump-its (and/or plenty of hair spray), pointy bras, and fab 50s wear. Here are a couple pictures of the birthday girl, our Mad Men getup, and the fabulous dessert table courtesy of the baking goddess, aka my mom.

I hadn't been back to California since the year before Bea was born - I have missed my birth state! California will always have a special place in my heart, I'm lucky to still have some family out there to visit. I had been to San Francisco before, but Meg lives a bit north of that - officially the northernmost part of the west coast that I have visited. The scenery is different (less palm, more pine), but of course beautiful nonetheless. We did some cruising around on some wonderfully windy roads through hilly farmland, stopped for a delicious breakfast at an organic diner, went for a great hike guided by waterfalls, and of course stopped for a Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz photo-op. Hope you enjoy these snapshots from my trip!

  3. Hi! This is my first time to your blog and I am loving it! I started at the most current and am working my way back. I must say that your little girl is just adorable. Her happy personality comes through in the pictures. Loved the black & whites, also. I'm old enough to remember having cameras that took only B & W photos! (Wow! I just had a wave of "boy, am I old" hit me. Ha!) I am a transplanted mid-westerner to the great state of Texas. I, too, was shocked the first time I saw that cars drove on the beaches. It takes some getting used to but now, after almost 30 years here, I think nothing of it.

I like your style of writing and look forward to reading more of your posts!
    Blessing to you,
    Joy
